If you want to go to your local polling station to register your vote then you will need a valid form of Photo ID.

This requirement was introduced last year by the Tory government under the pretence that they were trying to reduce voter fraud, even though this type of fraud is almost non-existent. The result – whether accidental or intentional – has been to make it significantly more difficult for some members of the public to vote.

Don’t let it be you that can’t vote. First, check the rules about what form of Photo ID is valid by clicking on the link to go to the government website and find out.

If it turns out you don’t have a valid form of Photo ID then you can apply for a Voter Authority Certificate at

It’s not difficult – please don’t let bureaucracy stop you from voting – it’s time for a change!
